The club’s cross country race held at Haughley Park. Beautiful location. 2 laps of the course making up 5.6 miles. To be honest I don’t remember too much about this race surprisingly as it was my first.
A few weeks later I ran at Nowton Park at the St Edmund Pacer’s cross country race. That was the start of a distinct dislike of cross country racing. Not a very technical course, but I remember finishing with my hair frozen.
Each year I give the season a dabble in the hope that I’ll suddenly find the love, but it just doesn’t happen. I really don’t like cross country racing.
